Rex Allan Morgan

REX ALLAN MORGAN, Nov. 28, 1960 - Nov. 22, 2016, passed away of heart failure at home in Fremont. He was born in Seattle, the fourth of five children. Moved to Las Vegas, NV in 1962. Was active in Boy Scouts, achieving Eagle Scout rank in 1977. Graduated with honors from Clark High in Las Vegas in 1978. Attended University of Oregon and University of California, Davis, receiving a B.S. in Mathematics in 1984.
Rex worked as a Systems Engineer at Kaiser Electronics (later Rockwell Collins) and then at Becton-Dickinson, both in San Jose, CA.
Rex loved hiking and backpacking. He completed the entire John Muir Trail and frequently found another mountain to climb. Other interests were reading, coin collecting and spending time with family and friends.
Survived by his parents, Robin and Walter Morgan of Pleasanton, CA; by his brother Dane Morgan (Jiaming) of Los Alamos, NM; sister Julie Morgan Rusch (Doug) of Fremont, CA; and brother Arne Morgan (Beth Hesse) of Olympia, WA; nieces Marcie Morgan, Cindy Morgan, Sophia Hesse-Morgan and nephews Joshua Morgan and Max Hesse-Morgan. Preceded in death by his brother John Morgan (Joan). 
A Celebration of Life will be held for Rex at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of the Angels, 40842 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rex's name may be sent to the California State Parks Foundation to honor his love of the outdoors.
