LYNN PARK BROSY

May 26, 1959 -July 30, 2016

The world lost a woman of incredible intelligence, beauty, creativity, determination, passion, energy, love, and compassion. Lynn was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was an excellent dentist, proud Latvian, voracious reader, enthusiastic world traveler, party planner extraordinaire, and devoted Chicago Cubs fan. She never did anything small or halfway. Lynn planned her vacations with the same passion as she approached life. She visited all 30 of the major league baseball team's ballparks - cheering for the Cubs whenever possible. She visited nearly all 50 states and 22 countries - making sure to do everything she could possibly fit into each and every day. Whether it was camping for two days or traveling across the world for weeks at a time, no detail was overlooked. Lynn was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming and moved to Las Vegas as a small child. She met her husband, Paul, in dental school and their adventure began. She served two tours in the Navy as a dentist with Paul before they opened Brosy Family Dentistry here in Reno in 1989. Lynn's faith made her a tireless advocate for The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. She worked hard to make the church better and a place where people thrive and become stronger. Lynn was extremely active in the dental community. She was Vice-President of the Nevada Dental Association, the first female President of the Northern Nevada Dental Society, a fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, recipient of the Mario Gildone Lifetime Achievement award, and a pioneer volunteer of Compassion Community Clinic. Lynn was also a board member of the Girl Scouts of Northern Nevada, and past President and board member of Interfaith Hospitality Network. Lynn was a master of the theory, "Work Hard, Play Hard." Her work ethic was contagious and she played with determination. Now that Lynn is no longer with us, a lot less will get done in this world. Lynn challenged everyone she came in contact with to do more, to do better, to be involved, and to accomplish more than we would have thought possible. Lynn will be greatly missed by her husband, Paul Brosy, D.M.D.; her daughters, Mara Brosy-Wiwchar, (Mike), and Erin Brosy Anderson, D.M.D. (Adam); her granddaughter, Scarlett Annabeth Anderson; and countless other family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 19, at 3 pm at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 501 California Ave, Reno, NV 89509. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be given to Compassion Community Clinic, a free dental clinic for underserved adults in the Reno/Sparks area (http://www.nvccclinic.org/, 775-358-8913) Online memories and condolence messages may be expressed in the Book of Memories at www.waltonsfuneralhomes.com.
