Dear Dirk Witt, Dirk and I grew up friends in the same neighborhood. As young kids running around riding our bikes, sitting on the grass just talking to each other. Dirk was a really nice person and fun to be around. He had the most infectious smile on his face all the time. As we got into High School we didn't hang around as much but he would always pop over every once in while to touch base and say hello. I liked that about him. Dirk did that about two weeks before he passed and took me for a ride in his new red car then dropped me off at home. When I heard he was gone I coundn't believe it. I still often think of him. He touched my life!
