Drew Peterson VIEW PROFILE

Drew Allen Peterson, of Henderson, made his final departure May 1, 2014, after an 11-year battle with early-age onset Alzheimer's disease. He had just celebrated his 58th birthday. Drew was born Friday the 13th of April, 1956, to Andrew and Bess Peterson, at the original Rose de Lima Hospital in Henderson. He was a 1974 graduate of Clark High School, attended UNLV and graduated in 1978 from Northrop University with a degree in aerospace engineering. Drew flew for National, Pan Am, Air-Midwest and retired as a 737 captain with Alaska Airlines. His genuine passion was in restoring and maintaining his own airplanes. Drew was talented in woodworking and had a deep connection to World War II, traveling Europe extensively in pursuit of knowledge and experiences. Drew was preceded in death by his parents, Bess in 1983 and Andrew in 2009. Drew is survived by his wife, Amy Moore Peterson. He is also survived by sisters, Nancy Vetrano of Sacramento, Calif., and Sandra Peterson of Henderson; and stepmother, Sharon Peterson of Boulder City.  "Whenever I see contrails in the sky, I will think of Drew.
