Jane was killed in a car accident in 1983. Her family was a natives of Las Vegas where her father Madison Graves Senior was a judge and her brother Madison Graves Junior was  a Regent of Nevada. She participated in drama during her years at Clark High School.  She was very involved in fund raising in the committee and attended the University of Nevada at Reno for a few years.
